Though I had a very short time to pull it together, this showcase was a long time in the making. It was something that needed to be done and I am grateful I was a catalyst in executing it successfully. The history of the Atlanta hip hop scene is so vast, I had to choose a period of time to narrow in on, otherwise,we’d have needed a week or more to tell our story fully. I organized fifteen performers that were instrumental in the shaping of the scene from about 1997-2003, as well as djs, radio show hosts, promoters and cultural influencers and we combined a history lesson with one very live jam session that took place On Wednesday October 2, 2014 at the Music Room on Edgewood Avenue, during the ninth A3C festival. Currently, we are compiling video footage from that night to make a video of highlights. Stay tuned here for details. Rather than write a long diatribe, I will allow the pictures to tell the story. Thank you to A.D., Black Algebra Multimedia, Will Feagins Jr, ATLHIPHOP.COM and Crazy Al Cayne for coming through and documenting and taking photographs of the event. Thank you to A3C for the platform. Much love to everyone that came through and rocked, spoke, supported and made this showcase one of the best! We couldn’t have done this without you!! We do it for the love, no matter what!
